You can decrease your time in the stress cycle by recognizing the process you experience. 

Understand that you are "in the tunnel" -- by recognizing the thoughts and feelings you experience in the beginning and middle of the cycle.

REASSURE

To establish
safety

 

Once you recognize, let your nervous system know that you are safe.

Choose a grounding exercise and mantra to bring you back to the present. This step allows you to establish a sense of safety.
